Guangzhou Xinhai Odeum is named according to Chinese famous musician Xian Xinhai’s name. The 14,000 square metre facility is located in the beautiful Guangzhou Er Sha Island. This building includes the 1500-seat symphony performance hall, as well as a 460 seat indoor performance hall, complete with a 100 seat AV presentation room. There is also a 4800 square metre music culture section.

Since completion the 3^rd March 1998 when, it has become one of the main centres of Guangdong society, hosting both local and international classical performances. The Xinhai Concert hall has therefore become an important symbol to Guangdong province, a sign that Guangzhou has become a cosmopolitan and cultural centre of excellence.

Xinhai Odeum is not only there to stage large musical performances on those important occasions, it also serves local musical activities, for cultural events, education and celebration. It therefore promotes musical exchange at every level, serving the community with all types of promotion and public activity.

The Paris Orchestra, The Frankfurt Broadcast Symphony, The Russian National Symphony Orchestra,the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Luxembourg National Music Orchestra, Finland Indoor Music Orchestra, the Paul Rotin Orchestral Quartet and the Juariya Orchestral Quartet.

In 2006, EM Acoustics’ Chinese distributor Jolly ProAudio were honoured when they were invited to participate in the audio renewal project for the Xinhai Odeum and immediately recommended EM Acoustics loudspeakers from UK to improve the in-house audio reproduction system.

The fourteen-enclosure system, flown from the trusses in the Odeum’s ceiling includes EMS-152 15” x 2” and EMS-121 12” x 1” fullrange enclosures, EMS-81 8” x 1” enclosures and i-2 compact enclosures as fills and a pair of the ultra-compact i-8 subwoofers flown in the roof for low frequency reinforcement.
