Description
The EMS-81 is now the smallest enclosure in the EMS Series, created to answer a demand from our customers for an enclosure smaller than the workhorse EMS-81 yet with more power and a wider dispersion than the compact i-2 front fill. Simple and elegantThe EMS-61 is a passive enclosure and does not require a controller. At EM Acoustics we believe it is possible to build passive loudspeakers without compromising sonic quality. Extensive crossover R&D has led to an enclosure that is remarkably free of the time-smearing often associated with passive enclosures, resulting in a very natural frequency response, as well as an apparent "throw" not normal for an enclosure of this size. ConstructionThe CNC-machined enclosure is manufactured from 12mm (1/2") multi-laminate Finnish birch ply, rebated, pinned & glued together for maximum strength. Standard features and riggingInclude five M8 exposed-thread rigging points for suspension (either via forged shoulder eyebolts or using the optional YK-61 horizontal or vertical flying yokes), four M6 internal suspension points for installation hardware, and dual Neutrik Speakon™ NL4 connectors. The enclosure is finished in black semi-matt textured paint (colours optional) and the front is protected by a hex-punched steel grille, backed with acoustically-transparent black foam. |
