Description
The EMS-51 is now the smallest enclosure in the EMS Series, created to answer a demand from our customers for an enclosure ideal for compact fill & delay requirements, particularly in theatre & conference work. Simple and elegantThe EMS-51 is a passive enclosure, and as such like all EMS series full range products requires no external processing. At EM Acoustics we believe it is possible to build passive loudspeakers without compromising sonic quality. Extensive crossover R&D has led to an enclosure that is remarkably free of the time-smearing often associated with passive enclosures, resulting in a very natural frequency response, as well as an apparent "throw" not normal for an enclosure of this size. Added to this is the use of an infinite baffle enclosure, which extends the apparent LF response resulting in a much "bigger" sound than you would expect from a small box. The end result is a studio-grade compact loudspeaker, allowing for a much more cost-effective solution in modern theatre applications where delay & fill enclosures can number in the tens if not hundreds. ConstructionThe CNC-machined enclosure is manufactured from 12mm (1/2") multi-laminate Finnish birch ply, rebated, pinned & glued together for maximum strength. Standard features and riggingInclude four M8 exposed-thread rigging points for suspension (either via forged shoulder eyebolts or using the included YK-51 horizontal or vertical flying yokes), and dual Neutrik Speakon™ NL4 connectors. The enclosure is finished in black semi-matt textured paint (colours optional) and the front is protected by a perforated steel grille. |
