| EM Acoustics reveals X3 system at Music Moscow 2010 |
|
September 2010 saw the annual Music Moscow trade show, where EM Acoustics were exhibited as usual by their Russian distributor, Show Atelier. Music Moscow 2010 saw the first public demonstration of the eagerly anticipated X3 horn loaded system – the long-awaited companion to the mighty Quake subwoofer. X3 has been on the drawing board for over six years – and was finally brought to reality at Show Atelier’s request as their view of an ideal product for the Russian market. The system comprises a horn-loaded 15” LF drive unit, a horn-loaded 8” MF drive unit and six 1” compression drivers on a bespoke waveguide, creating a horizontal line source which allows X3 enclosures to be tight-packed together to form arrays. For the demonstration hall, Show Atelier used a system comprising four Quake subwoofers per side, combined with three X3 enclosures per side. The entire system was driven by FFA power amplifiers and processed by an XTA DP448. EM Acoustics’ R&D Director Ed Kinsella attended the show to oversee the set up and alignment of the new system, as well as being on-hand to answer any questions that were posed. Responses from customers at the show were extremely positive, with the X3/Quake system being quite clearly one of the most powerful within the demonstration hall yet still retaining incredible fidelity and clarity. The show gave Show Atelier & EM Acoustics the opportunity to demonstrate the true power of horn-loaded systems and the seamless integration of multiple X3 enclosures. We at EM Acoustics would like to thank Show Atelier for their incredible support for the show, and we are sure the X3 system will be everything they want & need it to be.
